Boatanchors

This is my current collection, with the prices that I would like to sell them for. This wasn't really intended as a For Sale list, but I REALLY do need to clear some space. Please make offers! Preferably for the whole lot (except the NFS), or nearly all. I could keep a couple, although I might never use them. I've never even tried out the NC-57!

I finally got out the Variac and got the HQ-129X out of storage and hooked it up. I slowly eased up the power over a 24 hour period to ensure that the capacitors could form properly. I have no idea how long it had been since it last had its power on. But it worked great! I adjusted the dial calibration slightly and cleaned the tuning calibration dials. The bandspread dial disk was partly broken so I glued it together again, with Ambroid cement. I've mainly used this radio so far just for AM Broadcast Band listening and it's great for that. Really nice sound and very good dial calibration, with marks every 10kHz, so I can identify the frequency of any station I hear. I took a picture of the tuning dial showing how nicely it's calibrated, and one showing how thoroughly worn the front panel of this unit is.

Protect your tube filaments! Check my "Tube Saver" page.

Has anyone else ever seen a Dentron HF-200? It's a 5-band SSB/CW transceiver, all solid state, 200 watts, with analog dial. Schematic diagrams dated Feb 1979.

I heard from someone who had been on the HF-200 design team, looking for a unit to get back onto the air! It will be on the California Airwaves. Listen for KI6QO.

A new SX-28 cost $179.50 in 1942.

And as if all those weren't enough, I'm wishing for an Icom IC-735. Maybe my Dentron transceiver is a real collector's item and someone will offer to trade with me! After all, it is a nice 5-band, 200 watt SSB/CW all solid-state unit, with analog display. Ideal for mobile but also has a power supply for fixed use. I guess it wasn't, but I did find it a good home, where it will be appreciated.
